Better Together Classroom Activities

We are a small part of a large team. We are designed to be Better Together. Activities are available for grades PreK-12.

GOAL:

This object lesson illustrates how we are connected to others. Individually, we are a small part of a large team. We are designed to be better together. When we stay connected, we are stronger and better together. Together, we can accomplish more than we could alone.

EARLY EDUCATION ACTIVITY:

In this engaging activity, students explore the concept of connection and teamwork using paper clips. The activity emphasizes the idea that, like paper clips, individuals are designed to be better together. The chains created by students represent the collaborative strength that emerges when people connect. The lesson draws a parallel between the interconnected paper clips and the connections between individuals, highlighting that together, they can accomplish more than they could alone. This hands-on activity is perfect for your littlest learners!

KEY VERSE:

“Two are better than one.” - ECCLESIASTES 4:9A

K-8 ACTIVITY:

In this interactive activity, students explore the theme of interdependence and connection using a puzzle. The setup involves distributing puzzle pieces to each student, with one piece held back. The activity begins with students examining their individual puzzle pieces and recognizing the challenge of understanding the complete picture by looking at just one piece. This activity is more complex and perfect for students K-8.

KEY VERSE:

“As iron sharpens iron, so a friend sharpens a friend.” - PROVERBS 27:17 NLT

HIGH SCHOOL ACTIVITY:

In this engaging team-building game, students undertake the "Pipeline Challenge" with the objective of transporting sugar pearl sprinkles from point A to point B and depositing them into a cup. The game explores our need for friendship as humans and emphasizes the impact of communication and teamwork on achieving common goals. This lesson is perfect for grades 9-12.

KEY VERSE:

“Two are better than one because they have a good return for their labor: if either of them falls down, one can help the other up. But pity anyone who falls and has no one to help them up.” - ECCLESIASTES 4:9 -10
