Flourishing Leaders in the Vineyard of Catholic Education

Catholic school leaders carry immense responsibility—not only as administrators but as spiritual shepherds. The work is sacred and weighty. That’s why taking time to pause, reflect, and reconnect with the true vine—Jesus—isn’t a luxury, it’s a necessity.

We recently had the gift of leading a principal retreat for the Diocese of Green Bay titled Bearing Fruit: Connected to the Vine. Inspired by John 15, the session invited leaders to reflect on God’s deep care and the spiritual nourishment found in abiding in Christ. Through Scripture, the imagery of the vineyard came alive: God is the Gardener, we are the branches, and through Him we are called to bear fruit.

But this wasn’t just a morning of reflection—it was an invitation into transformation.
We used the Johari Window, a leadership tool that invites self-awareness, vulnerability, and connection. Leaders explored their open, hidden, blind, and unknown selves in light of Christ’s love and call to growth.

And we celebrated. Because celebrating fruit—personal, professional, and school-wide—is vital. It reminds us that spiritual leadership is fruitful work. That even amid pruning seasons, God is working.

As Catholic school leaders begin or continue their year, this retreat offers a unique moment to slow down and abide. Imagine if your diocesan leaders could begin the school year with clarity, joy, and connection.

We’d love to bring this retreat to your diocese.

Together, let’s grow schools where Christ is the vine and leaders bear much fruit.
