Stations of the Cross Classroom Activity

During Holy Week, we reflect on Christ's journey through prayer and scriptural reflections for each Station of the cross. Each station reminds us of what Jesus went through to provide us peace and life in him.

Character Traits:

  • Empathy

  • Kindness

  • Forgiveness

Lesson Outline: Discuss with Students

  • How do you think Jesus felt when He was unfairly judged?

  • Why is it important to keep going, even when things are hard?

  • Can you think of a kind thing you can do for someone this week?

"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him." - John 3:16

New Life Through Kindness Classroom Activity

Just as Easter reminds us of new life and renewal, our actions can bring joy, hope, and kindness into the lives of others. When we choose to be kind, we share the love and forgiveness that Jesus showed us.

Character Traits:

  • Kindness

  • Compassion

  • Forgiveness

  • Generosity

  • Joyfulness

Craft: “Kindness Eggs”

Supplies:

  • Plastic Easter eggs or paper egg cutouts

  • Slips of paper

  • Markers, stickers, etc.

Instructions:

  • Each student decorates their egg with symbols of spring (hearts, flowers, sunshine).

  • On the paper slips, they write or draw:

    • One way they can show kindness at school or at home.

    • A message of encouragement to someone else.

  • Place the slips into their egg, and then:

    • Option A: Put them in a class basket and take turns drawing “kindness challenges” each day this week.

    • Option B: Give their egg to a classmate anonymously as a positive surprise.

"Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you." — Ephesians 4:32

The Power of Kindness & New Beginnings Discussion Prompt

Easter is about new life and sacrifice, just like Jesus gave His life for us so we could have eternal life. He didn’t give just a little—He gave everything! And because He gave so much, we are now able to live in the light of His love and forgiveness.

Character Traits:

  • Kindness

  • Forgiveness

  • Empathy

  • Growth Mindset

Lesson Outline: Discuss with Students

  • What does it mean to have a fresh start?

  • How can we “bloom” into someone who helps others?

  • Share a time someone was kind to you—or you were kind to someone else.

Additional Prompt to Enhance Discussion

Talk about how Jesus teaches us that when we are kind and give to others—whether it’s sharing a toy, helping a friend, or saying something nice—God sees it and blesses us in return. Just like Jesus gave His whole heart for us, we can show His love by giving and being kind to others. When we give big love, big love comes back to us!

"Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.” - Luke 6:38

The Garden of Goodness Classroom Activity

On Easter, we celebrate the resurrection of Jesus, which is the ultimate new beginning. Just as the resurrection brings new life to the world, this verse helps remind us that we, too, are called to live in the newness of life that Jesus gives us.

Character Traits:

  • Kindness

  • Forgiveness

  • Empathy

  • Love

Craft: Make a Class “Garden of Goodness” Poster

  • Each student writes one act of kindness they will try this week on a paper flower or egg, then adds it to a bulletin board garden.

Additional Prompt to Enhance Discussion

Jesus says He is like a vine and we are the branches. That means when we stay close to Him by loving others, praying, and choosing kindness, we can grow and do great things! Just like branches grow fruit when they stay connected to the vine, we grow “Fruits of the Spirit” like kindness, love, and forgiveness when we stay close to Jesus.

As we build our "Garden of Goodness," each flower or egg shows how we’re growing in Jesus. When we do kind things, it’s like our garden is blooming with His love!

"I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.” – John 15:5
