As you celebrate this week, we are excited to share ready-to-use resources to help you do just that! Below, you’ll find activities for students of all ages to foster friendships rooted in faith, gratitude, and love for their communities.

Lutheran Schools Week Resources & Freebies for Your Classroom

At Friendzy, we are deeply grateful for you and your faithful, day-to-day work nurturing disciples of Christ who are growing socially, emotionally, and spiritually. Lutheran Schools Week is a meaningful opportunity to pause, celebrate, and give thanks for the many ways God is at work in your classrooms and hallways.

To help you celebrate this special week, we’ve gathered ready-to-use Friendzy resources to make participation easy—and fun!

Reflection Prompts

Use these discussion prompts to promote empathy, community, and friendship!

  • Early Ed: Choose 2 to 3 questions to discuss during circle time or complete the drawing response page.

    • How can we help a friend feel happy or safe?

    • What does it look like to be kind at school?

    • How can we show God’s love to others today?

  • K-5: Use these prompts for discussion or journaling. Journaling can be written or drawn, depending on the ability level of your students.

    • What can you do when someone feels sad or left out?

    • How can listening to others help us be better friends?

    • How do our words and actions build up our school community?

    • How can showing kindness and empathy be a way to “Make a Joyful Noise” for God?

  • Middle School: The following list of prompts can be used for group discussions or written reflections. We recommend reading Psalm 98 together before discussion.

    • What does “Make a Joyful Noise” mean? Why is empathy important in friendships and communities?

    • How can your actions or words reflect Christ’s love at school?

    • How can standing up for others be a way of praising God?

    • How can showing empathy be a way to “Make a Joyful Noise” for God?

  • High School: Use the following reflection prompts for small-group dialogue or journaling. We recommend reading Psalm 98 together before discussion.

    • Psalm 98 opens with “Sing to the Lord a new song.” What do you think makes a song or expression of worship new rather than repetitive or routine?

    • How does empathy shape the way we live out our faith in everyday life?

    • How can friendship reflect Christ’s love in both joyful and challenging moments?

    • How can small, unseen acts of kindness strengthen a community?

    • How can we “Make a Joyful Noise” through service and compassion?

Little Acts of Kindness Challenges

Challenge your students to complete acts of kindness this week.

  • Early Ed: Using the provided tic-tac-toe board, students will work to get three in a row by completing various acts of kindness this week. This can be done as a whole class, individually, or sent home for a home-school connection.

  • K-5: Using either the provided tic-tac-toe or BINGO board, students will complete a row by doing various acts of kindness. Send it home for students to complete and return!

  • Middle School: Using the provided BINGO board, students will complete various acts of kindness throughout the week, with the goal of getting five in a row! For a home-school connection, send the sheets home for students to complete and return.

  • High School: Using the provided reflection page, challenge students to complete five acts of kindness this week and to write a reflection about each one.

All Creation Praises God Display

Work together as a community to create a banner representing God’s creation. This could be a classroom or school-wide project.

  • Early Ed + K-5: Pull out a large sheet of paper or a roll of butcher paper. Have students draw pictures to represent God’s creation, such as: animals, birds, fish, plants, the sun, stars, water, people, and more! Display the banner on the wall.

    • BONUS: Have students make musical shakers (directions in the resources) and parade around the building, celebrating God’s creation with joyful noise!

  • Middle School: Pull out a large sheet of paper or a roll of butcher paper. Students will design banner sections that show creation praising God, such as birds singing or waves crashing. They will also include Scripture that reflects both their own praise for God’s creation and how creation itself praises Him.

  • High School: Students will plan and create banner sections that show creation praising God, including Scripture and reflections. They may take on leadership roles in designing the layout, incorporating creative elements, and ensuring the final banner reflects the theme of God’s creation praising Him.

  • For a school-wide celebration: Each class can create sections of the mural, or your school can divide the project across grade levels or Chapel Families, with different ages focusing on different parts of the banner
